Area of Ministry:

I serve as Elder, Lead Usher & Marketing Coordinator. Our goal is to help guests and attendees experience God's unconditional love and acceptance, find a spiritual home, and to become more like Jesus.

Growing up during the Charismatic movement in the 70's and early 80's, I accepted Christ into my life. However, it wasn't until years later when I fully recognized my inherent defect and realized I couldn't save myself, even in part. I needed someone to save me indeed. It was then I truly accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal Savior.

My father was an Air Force career officer. We traveled around a little - Japan, California, Florida's panhandle, Northern Virginia, etc. I have an older brother and a younger brother and spent most of my formative years just outside of Washington, DC and in St. Petersburg / Clearwater, Florida. My wife and I currently care for my 81-year old mother, have two active dogs, a cat who thinks he's owns the place, and a bird.

A More Defining Moment in My Life:

In April 1993, I found myself stuck in life and nowhere near where I wanted to be. I was at the end of my rope. I was driving home late one night, very upset, sobbing uncontrollably, and yelling at God to "take me out." I was desperate. Additionally, there were people around me at the time who deserved a lot more than I could ever give them. Less than a week later I was in the hospital ER with a cerebral hemorrhage and completely paralyzed on my left side. There is so much more to this story. However, in short, the event removed me from my initial situation and gave me a chance to start over in Daytona Beach. The following year was a time of complete renewal including a renewed relationship with the Lord. The trajectory of my life had changed. God's grace and mercy were all over my circumstance. Life hasn't always been comfortable since then. I've also made my fair share of mistakes. However, my strength comes from the Lord and am so thankful for all He has given me. Praise God!

One of the Things I Find Most Fascinating:

Some may find this pretentious; however, the older I get, the more beautiful and smart my wife grows. She is amazing, and I'm so proud of her! I appreciate Gabi more and more every day. I knew I was lucky when we married, but nothing like I see her today. It's humbling, and it has more to do with God than anything. I'm a blessed man.
